The Injustice System: Risk Assesment Tech
Change Starts With Research
Our blog gives information on risk assessment technologies in the criminal justice system and the latent functions of COMPAS. We show how these technologies encourage racial profiling and see if they affect what they are trying to accomplish. We will provide crimes that correlate to this. There will be updates on new reports of cases that encourage racial profiling, and old cases of racial profiling in the criminal justice system. There is information regarding Risk Assessment Instruments (RAI’s) and Public Safety Assessments (PSA). We also discuss how sociology is incorporated in these technologies. We will be looking at the technology that is in those systems and how the internet/instruments use sociology to detect and make the decisions to help the United States court system make decisions on criminal justice acts. We even provide information on what states use or have used this technology to decide court case results. Lastly, we will discuss on if people of color have a higher chance of getting a higher sentence than white Americans for similar crimes.
